Open Bodies

Thu 21 Feb, 6–8.30pm. Free. Book via Eventbrite

Join us in the Fruitmarket for a celebration of the Open Bodies programme with the chance to experience participants’ work including live presentations from Henry McPherson and Stephanie Black-Daniels.

Open Bodies is a residency programme for artists working with performance with an interest in gender and/or sexuality, designed jointly by Despina (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and The Fruitmarket Gallery with support from British Council and Creative Scotland. In September 2018, Stephanie Black-Daniels, Henry McPherson, Vinícius Pinto Rosa and Miro Spinelli shared studio space in Despina. For Open Out, Black-Daniels and McPherson lead artist-aimed sessions based on workshops they delivered in Rio, and we present installations, performance and traces of the four artists’ work in the gallery.
