Fresh Fruit Pop-Up: Urban Tales

Urban Tales
Sundays 24 Nov, 1, 8, 15 Dec, 2-5pm.
Free, drop-in for 8-15 year olds. No booking required.
@Bookmarket: a pop up bookshop and events space on top of Waverley Mall, access the space through Williams and Johnson Coffee Co.

Explore different ways to pull out stories that already exist in our environment. Create art in different media inspired by the narratives we discover in the city around us. This block is inspired by Night Walk for Edinburgh, an immersive video walk through Edinburgh’s Old Town by artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller.

Fresh Fruit Pop-Up is an open creative space for 8-15 year olds to drop-in, make art and chat to peers. Taking place in The Fruitmarket Gallery’s temporary space at Waverley Mall during our building development, the sessions are a reimagining of our Young Creatives and Sunday Makers workshops.

Over four themed blocks of activity developed by artist Louise Fraser and Fresh Fruit’s Intern Brooke Milliken, you’ll be supported to take over the space and develop ideas for creative programmes for young people in the new Fruitmarket building when it opens in 2020.
