Learn to make a pop-up book with Lucy Roscoe of The Book Tree Press

Absorb yourself in the magical world of the pop-up book, which is strictly not just for children! You will learn a few paper engineering and manipulation techniques that can be used and adapted to create all kinds of unique book forms. At the end of the workshop you will take home your own pop-up book.

This event is part of The Fruitmarket Gallery’s Artists’ Bookmarket and is suitable for all ages and no prior experience necessary. All tools and materials are provided.

Susie Wilson: Rubber Stamps Workshop

Edinburgh based artist Susie Wilson  will introduce a simple and quick method to create content by cutting an image into an eraser.  These stamps will then be used to  create a unique concertina book and you can experiment with printing and layering colours.

This event is part of Artists’ Bookmarket and is suitable aged 14+, no prior experience necessary. All tools and materials are provided.

Cut Fold Bind: Bookmaking Workshop for 16–25 year olds

Inspired by Lozano’s drawings, notebooks and instruction works, this project with artist Catherine Hiley will introduce a range of bookmaking techniques, looking at how form, content, production and structure inform each other. Participants will make books that explore the small, intimate and direct nature of this medium. The books will be displayed in the gallery at the end of the workshop.

Fresh Fruit is a programme for young people to work together and with artists to explore new ideas and make and share art.
