Join us for a specially designed cocktail, and conversation to celebrate Tania Kovats’ WELL, a new artwork – a water fountain that sits in the Fruitmarket café – commissioned as part of our redevelopment. Kovats will be in conversation with Fruitmarket Director Fiona Bradley and Susanna Beaumont, founder of Design Exhibition Scotland who initiated the development of WELL. With poetry by poet and geographer Tim Cresswell.

WELL is tiled with hand-painted ceramic tiles, onto which the artist has painted her signature sea mark drawing, a motif that captures the flicker of the ocean surface. In recalling the ocean while delivering fresh drinking water, WELL invites us to think about the journey that water takes through the landscape to arrive ready for us to drink. Please bring your favourite water bottle to fill.

This event is programmed to coincide with COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

Limited tickets available for in-person event. Unlimited tickets available for online event. A recording will be available online after the event.
