Planks under planks: Yoga in Jyll Bradley’s Pardes
Yoga sessions with Sharon Iacono or Julia Carruthers under the beams of Jyll Bradley’s Pardes.
Every first and third Thursday of the month (02.12.21–07.04.22). 10–10.45am. Pay what you can. In the Fruitmarket Warehouse. Bring your own mat. All levels welcome.
Jyll Bradley’s Pardes is the first stand-alone installation in the Fruitmarket’s new Warehouse. Lit from within it is a warm, welcoming canopy of green light – a space for gathering together or for quiet contemplation – Pardes’ will glow through the darkest time of the year.
Sharon Iacono (Move Well Yoga), has been practising yoga for around twenty years and teaching for just over five. She trained originally in Hatha Raja Yoga and then in the gentler style of Yin and Therapeutic Yoga. She is also trained in mobility and sports massage. Her classes are generally a mix of different styles of movement dependent on the class, but they will involve active stretching and functional movement to gain both strength and flexibility. She loves teaching beginners, saying ‘I really find it is so important to start from the basics and build a strong foundation in your practice’.
Sharon will teach on the following dates: 2.12.21, 6.01.22 , 03.02.22, 03.03.22, 07.04.22.
Julia’s Yoga practice started over 30 years ago, then she had a 20 year break. In last 6 years she got back into it and loved it so much she decided she wanted to teach, qualifying in December 2018 at Sunshine Yoga, with 200 hours RYT Chandra Teacher Training. Her teaching style is based around Yin Yoga focussing on the breathe and holding the poses for longer. Concentrating on the link between body, mind and soul. In these busy times it is great to carve out time for yourself, stretch and move your body intuitively. She’s an energised Yogi with a lot of patience and a good sense of humour. Her goal is to guide you to listen to your own body, relax and enjoy 45 mins of you time.
Julia will teach on the following dates: 16.12.21, 20.01.22, 17.02.22, 17.03.22.
Regarding Covid prevention measures, please see our access information for general guidance for visitors to the Fruitmarket.
