Mutual Feelings
A Reading on Body and Place
Join Civic Soup for Mutual Feelings, an evening of performative readings on body and place.
06.10.23. 8–10pm. Free. Book here
In Spring 2023, a reading circle was guided by collective Civic Soup working with artist-performer Billy Morgan as part of a research residency with Rhubaba. In this event, taking place and the body as sites of mutual interest, or even affection, Civic Soup and reading circle participants consider how we might think our way beyond conventional relations to environments.
The previous reading circle explored interrelationality, material cultures and acts of re-imagining through writing and movement. The texts featured at this event, authored and performed by the participants whilst moving within the café space, will ask what we can sense when dissolving separations between the self and its surrounds.
Performance 8.30–9.30pm with time for drinks and chatter, before and after.
Produced by Civic Soup, an interdisciplinary collective of designers, artists and spatial activists whose work invites an expanded sense of the public realm. Choreographed and guided by Billy Morgan in collaboration with Calum Rennie and Jj Fakada, Jaiye Chen, Mridula Sharma, Millie Player, Celeste John-Wood, & others… Sound design by Calum Rennie
