Making Memories is a partnership project between Fruitmarket and The Crannie community space that has been running since Fruitmarket reopened in its extended and refurbished building after the pandemic. In our new studio, artist Louise Fraser and community worker Mo Innes run regular workshops designed for older people. The workshops use a combination of reminiscence and arts skills to support participants to develop new forms of expression and share their learning and life experiences.
This exhibition is a celebration of the wide variety of artwork they have created over the last few years.
Working in partnership with Fruitmarket with our Making Memories group has been an incredible experience for us. Participants have had the chance to discover their artistic talents. Louise has introduced us to many exciting ways of making art, with a huge array of fantastic materials. Based in the Fruitmarket studio we are warmly welcomed and enjoy the exhibitions. We feel included and part of the Fruitmarket community. – Mo Innes, The Crannie
