In The Frame
A free descriptive tour of Karla Black's exhibition for people with a visual or hearing impairment
In The Frame is designed for people who are blind or partially sighted and people with hearing impairments.
Artist Juliana Capes will lead an audio descriptive tour of the current exhibition Karla Black: sculptures (2001–2021), details for a retrospective. This tour is designed for people with visual or hearing impairments and includes discussing the art and artistic practice. Juliana Capes will describe the artworks, telling us about the artists ideas and processes and materials. The event will start with introductions and free a lunch served in the Fruitmarket Studio.
This descriptive tour is one hour long. Please allow one and a half hours in total for this event. There will be a maximum of 8 places on this tour. We will meet participants in the Fruitmarket Bookshop at 1pm.
Regarding access the Fruitmarket is an accessible building with: a wheelchair accessible toilet, level access on the ground floor, lift access to the upper gallery and a car drop off point directly outside the gallery. We can provide the following: a portable hearing loop, large print exhibition guide, one to one gallery information assistant guide, seating in the gallery and we can reimburse your travel expenses for this event.
