dappled, by Thomas A Clark
Thomas A Clark’s concrete poem dappled is realised as a projection in a new version made for the Fruitmarket’s Warehouse.
21.01.22–22.01.22, 11am–6pm. Free
Thomas A Clark’s concrete poem dappled is realised as a projection in a new version made for the Fruitmarket’s Warehouse. The poem’s letters appear and disappear, in keeping with the movement of light through the leaves of an orchard. The new work finds a connection to, and is presented alongside Jyll Bradley’s Pardes installation which concerns itself with mystical ideas of growth and the structures which bring the energy of light into fruition.
This new version of dappled was animated by Calum Rodger and follows on from a video of dappled being remade as a wall painting that was commissioned by the Fruitmarket as part of Book Week Scotland 2021 and which is available to view below.
Thomas A Clark is a poet based in Pittenweem, where, with the artist Laurie Clark, he runs Cairn Gallery and their small press, Moschatel Press.
