02.10.82 – 06.11.82

An exhibition of British artists predominately working in the field of drawing. Selected by Elizabeth Ogilvie and Alexander Moffat from Hayward Annual at Hayward Gallery London ((17 July – 30 August 1982). In London, around 300 works were shown. A selection of 60-70 drawings was shown in Edinburgh. Ogilvie and Moffat wrote that the ‘drawings in this Fruitmarket exhibition are extremely wide-ranging and diverse in style and content, with the exception of the life drawings.’

Artists included Evelyn Williams, Edward Allington, Stephen West, Patricia Hayes, Jim Savage, Peter de Francia, Sonia Lawson, Jock McFadden, Anthony Whishaw and Michael Davis, among many others.

The exhibition leaflet includes an essay by Mark Francis. It is available at the National Library of Scotland. Click here for details
