This exhibition offered an overview of developments within women’s art practice during the previous thirty-or-so years. It concentrated on the work of four major figures – Simryn Gill, Ana Mendieta, Cindy Sherman, Francesca Woodman – two of whom died prematurely, and touched on issues ranging from female self-definition to cultural belonging.
