Artists’ BookMarket

Sat 17 and Sun 2018, 11am–6pm

Artists’ BookMarket is The Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh’s celebration of artists’ book culture. This year we are partnering with our neighbour Stills Centre for Photography, in an expansion of our annual event. We are inviting applications from potential participants with a deadline of Monday 4 December.

Each year, we attract more than two thousand collectors and enthusiasts to make this date with artists’ books and artist-led publishing. More than forty stalls are laid with work for sale. The accompanying events ensure continuous activity in the spaces and this year events and workshops will be programmed to encourage visitors to move between our two sites over a busy weekend.

You can apply for Artists’ BookMarket at The Fruitmarket Gallery on CuratorSpace. Stills will give more of a focus to photographic publishing. If your publishing/book-making practice specialises in photography please apply to Stills on CuratorSpace here as they are hosting applications for this part of the fair.  We will allocate places according to the best fit for the venue. Please contact either of us through CuratorSpace if you would like to find out a bit more about how participation in Artists’ BookMarket might work for you.

Artists’ BookMarket plays an active part in supporting and growing the impressively networked artists’ book scene. Last year our participants included established Scottish book artists and current students and graduates from Edinburgh College of Art, with strong representation from other centres of book making and publishing practice such as Leeds, Newcastle, London and Bristol. We hope that you’ll consider joining us for 2018’s event.
