Bright and buzzing, this café is a great place to ease the feet and mind after a gallery visit – and is worth a special trip for a delicious, sustaining lunch. The List Eating and Drinking Guide 2015
The Fruitmarket Gallery Café prides itself on making fresh and sumptuous specials every day. Our cooks like to create interesting dishes by mixing style and flavour, so expect everything from colourful, crunchy salads and light Scottish fish, beef and game dishes, to South East Asian noodle and rice options, hearty stews, curries and bakes, as well as exotic Mediterranean flans and tarts. Seasonal produce is always the starting point, so whatever you choose, you are guaranteed variety throughout the year. For those looking for a light or quick lunch, there are home-made soups, salads, side dishes and deli-filled rolls. What’s more, there is always a sumptuous array of tempting cakes, so whether it’s a working lunch, a catch up with friends or a family visit, you’ll find something to suit all tastes. Since late 2004, the café has been run by Glenfinlas Ltd, which was founded by Roy Campbell and Mhairi Mackenzie-Robinson, Glenfinlas has grown from running temporary cafés at various cultural venues and events, to become a coffee wholesaler, gourmet food retailer and café operator.
